FOR ICE-FISHING – THE WEIGHT IS OVER

MarCum Technologies’ new battery lineup offers the lightest, strongest, and longest lasting Lithium power sources for all existing electronics and outdoors activities.

New Hope, MN – From the industry front-runner in ice electronics, comes a new leader in the batteries that power them.  It’s only fitting that MarCum Technologies, in the quest to constantly improve their ice offerings, brings advancements not only in sonar or cameras, but the very power-plants that fuel them.

For 2020, MarCum unveils four new battery options that are purpose-built for all situations outdoors.  Finally, a power source worthy of the technology it’s supplying.  Each battery exists as a Lithium-driven energy source that’s lighter, longer-lasting, and cheaper to own than the standard Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) batteries of old.  Think decades of life, not years; and up to thousands of charge cycles, not dozens.

Perhaps more importantly, MarCum offers these batteries as a complete kit, to pair the proper charging solution to the spec of each battery.  Bundling the correct charger for the battery at hand is an obvious solution that makes power selection easy for the customer; we know that the best battery in the world is useless without a full charge.  Incomplete systems or traditional SLA charging solutions can offer some power to Lithium batteries, but at nowhere near their full capacity, yielding poor performance no better than SLA’s we’ve been using for decades.

The MarCum Mite Lithium Ion battery is a 12V7.5AH featherweight, and at just over a pound is the lightest battery in the MarCum stable.  A true Lithium, theMarCum Mite offers an 80% weight reduction over standard SLA options while sporting a form factor that fits readily into any existing system.  There’s no way on ice to shave as much weight as the MarCum Mite can with the purchase of a single battery.

Next in the lineup comes the MarCum Brute.  At 12V10AH, this Lithium LiFePO4 option is the workhorse of the lineup and so trusted, MarCum puts it in nearly all of their L-series flashers.  In the past, increased run-time meant heavier weights, but with the Brute, you get a battery that’s pounds lighter without sacrificing performance.  The MarCum Brute sports a form factor that supports direct replacement for any system previously equipped with a 12V7/8/9AH Sealed Lead-Acid battery.

The MarCum King is another Lithium LiFePO4 option, and at 12V18AH, there’s power in the tank for reserve and then some.  MarCum realizes that there are certain systems designed for open-water which are also run on ice.  These units typically have a higher power draw designed for deep cycle batteries.  The MarCum King delivers deep cycle performance in a compact, portable form-factor.

For some outdoor activities, there’s simply never enough power to go around.  Enter the MarCum Max; at 12V30AH, it’s the largest Lithium LiFePO4 in class, delivering run-times measured in days vs. hours.  Whether you camp, kayak, or shelter overnight on-ice, the MarCum Max is the ultimate battery for any long-haul pursuit.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t MarCum’s first foray into Lithium technology.  For the ultimate Lithium experience, we introduced our MarCum Lithium Shuttle years ago, offering anglers a complete shuttle replacement for any manufacturer’s sonar.

As a U.S.-based, stateside manufacturer of ice electronics, MarCum takes great pride in the advancements they’ve brought to the sport, with this investment in Lithium being no different.  The same reliability and time-tested performance you’ve come to enjoy from MarCum simply gets that much better, stronger, lighter, and longer-lasting with the addition of Lithium LiFePO4 technology.
