PRODUCT INFORMATION

The difference between a good angler and a great one is their attention to detail. The M5LI provides that element in a 3-color, real-time flasher that’s as scientifically advanced today as it was when released nearly two decades ago. Feature specs are useless unless they help you catch fish, which is why the M5LI’s strength of signal with target separation down to 3/4″ is more than just a bullet point on a product box. That kind of sonar clarity allows you to differentiate fish from the bottom, or schooling fish from each other, to specifically target the largest fish in the group and catch them. With our dual-beam transducer, at the push of a button, an angler can quickly narrow the sonar cone angle and focus on fish within any striking distance of the bait. SuperFineLine (SFL) is another Marcum-exclusive, and it’s like having a High Definition mode for your flasher, all while improving standard definition from 1-1/2″ to 3/4″ for the entire water column. Max Brightness and Clarity (MBC) lighting ensures that sonar targets are as bright as they are sharp, digitally transposed on a super-smooth and quiet brushless platform that’s provided years of maintenance-free service. The M5LI’s patented zoom technology is moveable anywhere in the water column, giving you the freedom and precision not only for bottom hugging species, but an exclusive advantage only MarCums can boast as it relates to suspended fish. This is true in shallow water ponds, as well as the deepest and clearest lakes down to 160 feet. Our industry-leading 12-step interference rejection system is so advanced, it’s also patented. That makes it compatible with any 200khz frequency sonar, along with other frequencies as well. The M5L’s sonar system pumps out 2,500 watts of expertly managed power, and is now fueled by a lightweight, long-lasting lithium battery. This shaves a significant amount of the weight from the entire system, ensuring both angler AND flasher never run out of juice. Lithium technology is easy on the pocketbook too, offering lower cost of ownership by extending the life and use of any Marcum for thousands of charge cycles. Like all MarCums, the M5LI is sold complete, No species of fish can elude the features and performance of the M5LI, making it the most universally equipped multi-species flasher on the market.

SAFETY

BMS Protection

Circuitry designed to prevent the battery from operating outside its safe operating levels. Includes: over-current & over-voltage protection, regulates operation during high & low temperatures, balanced charging, and short circuit protection.

Warnings

  • Do not immerse the battery in water or sea water. Keep the battery in a cool dry place when not in use.
  • Do not use or leave the battery near a heat source (i.e. heater, furnace, fire).
  • Use the battery charger only as directed when recharging.
  • Do not reverse the positive and negative terminals on the battery connections.
  • Do not discard the battery in a fire, furnace, or other combustible space.
  • Do not connect the battery directly to an electrical outlet.
  • Do not short –circuit the battery by directly connecting the positive and negative terminals with metal objects.
  • Do not directly solder the battery or pierce the battery with a nail or other sharp objects.
  • If the battery gives off an odor, generates heat, becomes discolored or in any way appears abnormal during use, or while charging or discharging, immediately stop using it.
  • If the battery leaks and the battery contents (electrolyte) gets into an eye, do not rub the eye. Instead, flush the eye(s) with clean water and immediately seek medical attention or it may result in injury to the eye(s).
  • Do not use the battery in a location where static electricity or magnetic fields are great or it may result in damage to the battery safety devices.
  • Do not leave the battery in high temperatures (i.e. in direct sunlight or in a vehicle in extremely hot weather) or it may overheat, and its performance will be degraded, and service life decreased.
  • Tape the battery terminals prior to disposal to insulate them as discarded batteries may cause fire or explosion.
  • Follow manufacturers instructions.
  • Do not charge a frozen battery.
  • Charging Temperature: 0°C to +45°C.

Battery Checking Season

Battery Checking Season & Best Battery Replacement Options

The dog days of summer and that’s your green light to grab your MarCum flasher or digital system from the garage and give it a once over and top off the battery.

The first step in your pre-season routine should be checking your batteries. Most flasher failures on the ice are caused by a bad battery, so now’s the time to inspect your MarCum’s power source.

“You could be kicking yourself later if you don’t take a minute to check everything out now,” says MarCum Pro-Staffer, Joel Nelson. “Nothing will wreck a good day of fishing faster than a bad battery, because there’s nothing you can do about it out on the ice.”

MARCUM TECHNOLOGIES LITHIUM BATTERIES – PERFORMANCE AND VALUE STARTS AT $59.99

The standout feature of MarCum’s Lithium batteries is their lithium chemistry, which sets them apart from the competition. Not all lithium batteries are created equal, and MarCum’s line of Lithium batteries showcases a chemistry type, with its own unique advantages. Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) is the ice anglers ideal chemistry, which strikes a balance between weight, cold weather performance, and charge cycle longevity.
